Fun Carnival Games & Food, Silent Auction & Raffle

Live Music by Josh Bergmann, Brion Shearer. Topa Time Travelers, 50 Sticks of Dynamite, Fish Fry, and Scarlet Fire & Friends!!

What Happened? On Thursday, Sept. 13th 2018, George had a terrible accident on the school bus ride home from Ventura High School where he is an 11th grader. George has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and is physically handicapped and uses a wheeelchair but has the mind of a typical 16 year old kid with a big heart.

George was launched out of his wheelchair when the driver stopped short and although his chair was secured, his seat-belt was not resulting in to breaks both of his femurs and causing fat embolism syndrome which nearly took his life.

He was airlifted to UCLA from VCMC where he was put on ECMO, the highest life support on the planet for three days. His strength brought him through as lungs were able to heal enough to eventually take over for the machine and he survived. George has undergone several surgeries and is currently on a ventilator, trach tube and GI tube and is still unable to verbalize or move his hands.

George is still in the Pediatric ICU at UCLA as of today October 26th but we are hoping to bring him home in the next week to recover over the next year. We are waiting on home nursing to be coordinated and we, as his parents have completed extensive training. We believe we an care for him at home during this time and are choosing that instead of keeping him institutionalized. He still has full casts on both legs for another couple weeks so his routine transfers are even more difficult to do. The neurological trauma can heal, it will just take time.

Thank you for all the love and support we have received from the community, we are forever grateful.
